Man’s body found in entrance to North Philadelphia speakeasy

Police are investigating the discovery Sunday afternoonof a man’s body inside the entrance to a speakeasy in North Philadelphia.

Investigators said the victim, a 33-year-old Hispanic man, was shortly after 2 p.m.found lying in the entryway to a speakeasy on the 3300 block of North 5th Street near Westmoreland Street.

The man had suffered numerous wounds to the chest and back and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police were unsure Sunday afternoon whether the victim had been stabbed or shot to death.

No weapon was recovered, and no arrests had yet been made.
