Michael Vick lending support to dogfighting bill

Michael Vick is heading to Capitol Hill.

Unlike Roger Clemens’ recent visit, however, the Eagles quarterback is going to D.C. on a positive note. Vick will announce his support for H.R. 2492, a bill that will penalize criminals who finance and bring children to dogfights and cockfights. He’ll be joined at a press conference by Ohio Democratic Congresswoman Betty Sutton and Wayne Pacelle, president and CEO of the Humane Society of the United States.

Vick, of course, has been working with the HSUS since his release from federal prison in 2009. The bill was first introduced in Congress by Sutton and Pennsylvania Republican Tom Marino.
