A Montgomery County man is in custody after investigators say they tracked online child pornography to his laptop.

Kisu Sohn, 23, of Upper Gwynedd Township, was arrested on felony charges of distributing child pornography, the Montgomery County DA’s office announced Tuesday.

Sohn allegedly admitted to investigators that he had downloaded files showing underage males engaged in sex acts and shared them online through a peer-sharing network after an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigator went to his home.

Investigators searching local internet traffic in June found a computer sharing “files of interest in child pornographic investigations,” according to the police affidavit.

Various videos showing underage and adult males engaged in sex acts were downloaded from an IP address later traced to an Upper Gwynedd Township home, police said.

After investigators went to the home, they encountered Sohn, who consented to a search, confessed to downloading the videos, and surrendered his Dell Inspiron laptop to police, where they allegedly found two images and 59 video files.

“I informed Sohn that we were with the ICAC Task Force and asked if he knew of any reason why we might be there. Sohn replied yes, it was probably because he downloaded some videos off the internet,” Abington Township Det. Richard Beaghley, lead investigator on the case, wrote in an affidavit.

Sohn said he downloaded some videos because he was “curious” but also admitted that he used the videos for sexual gratification, according to the affidavit.

Sohn now faces felony child pornography charges. He was released on $50,000 bail awaiting a preliminary hearing on Aug. 25.
