A high school teacher who has resigned from her position at a Berks County school faces charges accusing her of sexting with a male student, prosecutors announced Wednesday.

Stephanie France Luckey, 37, allegedly initiated a sexting relationship with the teen while working as a Muhlenberg High School English teacher.

Luckey sent the teen “five to 10 partially nude and nude photographs of herself” and “a video recording of herself performing a sexual act,” according to Berks County prosecutors, who charged Luckey after she turned herself in on Tuesday.

Luckey resigned in August while police investigated. She is charged with unlawful contact with minors and corruption of minors, and is free on $25,000 bail.

Prosecutors said they first received a “child abuse complaint” on June 13 and interviewed the teen boy.

“In April through June of the 2016 school year, the defendant [Luckey] created a private Twitter account with Victim #1 so she could privately converse directly with him,” prosecutors said in a statement. “During this time period, the conversations between Victim #1 and the defendant turned sexual in nature.”

In addition to the sexual pictures and video, prosecutors said, “the victim disclosed that the defendant and he would kiss in her classroom after school.”

Luckey never denied the allegations after police interviewed her, prosecutors said.

The Muhlenberg Township School District did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

There was no information as to whether she had obtained a lawyer who could comment about the charges on her behalf.
