NCAAs coming to town

CITY HALL – Philadelphia will host several major college sporting events in the next three years, which are estimated to generate $75 million for the city, officials announced yesterday.

The partnership with the NCAA will put Philadelphia at the center of events, including a women’s basketball regional at the Liacouras Center in March, two rounds of the men’s basketball tournament next year at the Wells Fargo Center and the men’s lacrosse championship in 2013. The events will give a boost to the city’s hospitality industry.

“We are the full package,” Mayor Michael Nutter said. “We have it all right here.”
