The Eagles’ all-time leading rusher was famously shipped away from his home state by Chip Kelly inexchange for Kiko Alonso, who now plays as a middle linebacker on the Dolphins. It’s just one chapter in a bizarre recent chain of events within the Birds’ storied franchise.

And while LeSean McCoy’s trade to the Bills in 2015 helped the Eagles gain a draft pick asset that eventually helped them trade for the pick that wound up being Carson Wentz, McCoy’s departure left a sour taste in everyone’s mouth.

With Kelly gone, McCoy has no reason to hold a grudge against the Eagles. And according to sources throughout the NFL, McCoy could be cut by Buffalo this offseason. The Eagles need a running back and could part ways with oft-injured and cheap to cut loose Ryan Mathews. Is a reunion possible?

The 28-year-old rushed for over 1,200 yards last season and the Bills can save $6 million against the cap by letting him go a year before his contract expires. They have reliableand youngerMike Gillislee as a possible replacement already on the roster.

McCoy is one of the best Eagles of all time, and he is still in the prime of his career. If he is a free agent a team-friendly deal could work for all parties.

Another blast from the past, DeSeanJackson, will be a free agent in March as well. The possibility exists that both veterans play in midnight green in 2017.
