NHL Playoffs: Flyers look to rewrite record book second straight year

The Bruins are sick of hearing about it. The Flyers are counting on it.

Of course, we’re talking about last year’s back-from-the-dead performance that saw the Flyers dig themselves a 3-0 series deficit, then win four straight games. So, can it happen again?

“I answered that question the first day,” Bruins forward Shawn Thornton told reporters. “And you guys promised me I wouldn’t have to answer it again.”

Sorry. Only three NHL teams have ever rallied from a 3-0 hole to win a postseason series. And nobody’s done it twice.

“We just have to come and play the way we know we can and keep getting traffic and win a period, and hopefully win a game, and get to Game 5,” said Flyers defenseman Sean O’Donnell.

Loose pucks

» Start me up?
Flyers coach Peter Laviolette didn’t say Thursday whether Brian Boucher or Sergei Bobrovsky would start in net for Game 4.
» Prongs, Carter out
Chris Pronger and Jeff Carter both missed the morning skate Thursday. They are listed day-to-day.
