Nutter calls for PHA changes

Mayor Michael Nutter went to Harrisburg on Thursday to testify before the state House Urban Affairs committee about his vision for the Philadelphia Housing Authority moving forward from a hectic, controversial time. He spoke of streamlining the agency’s planning, coordination and development.

The PHA “has been in competition or at odds with the city” in development projects. He hopes a working relationship evolves but conceded he hasn’t spoken about it with PHA chair John Street recently.
