Obama streaker back in limelight

When isn’t a misdemeanor really a misdemeanor? One possible answer is when you’re charged with indecent exposure and open lewdness for running naked in front of President Obama as he speaks at a rally in Germantown.

That’s why instead of becoming a millionaire, Juan J. Rodriguez of New York City sat among five rows of defendants at Criminal Justice Center courtroom 803 yesterday. Though the District Attorney listed the case for trial, a hearing was pushed back until Jan. 28.

Rodriguez’s attorney William J. Brennan planned to apply for entry into the Pennsylvania accelerated rehabilitative disposition (ARD) program but was told Rodriguez “may not be eligible.” ARD is open to those with clean records facing misdemeanor charges.

The alleged stunt – caught on video and replayed internationally – was prompted by Battlecam.com’s $1 million offer to streak an Obama event.
