Off-duty cop, bartender stabbed in Center City

Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect who critically wounded an off-duty police officer by stabbing him multiple times outside a Center City bar late Thursday.

The stabbing happened about 11 p.m. outside Venture Inn, located on the 200 block of South Camac Street, NBC10 reported. A bartender was also stabbed.

The 49-year-old police officer, a 19-year veteran,was taken to Thomas Jefferson University hospital with two stab wounds to his torso and one to his leg, according to the report. He was listed in stable condition.

The bartender was stabbed in the chin.

Police recovered a hunting knife believed to have been used in the double stabbing. They believe the suspect has been identified, but had not yet located him.
