Oh, Danny boy: Flyers win in OT

Flyers 3, Devils 2, OT

Next: Tomorrow, 7:30

How we saw Game 3:

1 Triple play — The trio of Jeff Carter, Danny Briere and Scott Hartnell needs to step it up. Over the final 29 games of the regular season, the trio has just 18 goals. Hartnell (two goals) and Briere (five goals) are the two biggest culprits. Wake up guys, you’re being outworked by lunch-pailers like Dan Carcillo and Ian Laperriere.

2 Denting the Prongs — Shut down Chris Pronger’s offensive contributions and the Devils can make this a quick series. The Flyers’ elder statesman has a pair of markers in the first two games of this series and has scored an impressive 24 career goals in 149 postseason games, forcing opponents to know his whereabouts at both ends of the ice.

3 He’s the difference maker — One offensive bright spot for the Flyers in the playoffs has been the play of Claude Giroux. Scoreless in Game 1, Giroux’s ice-time has steadily increased and he’s contributed a pair of goals since then. He was arguably the best player on the ice last night for either team.
