Olney shooting injures man, misses children: Police

A man is in stable condition after being shot late Tuesday night in Philadelphia’s Olney section.
According to police, a gunman opened fire around 11:30 p.m. on Wagner Avenue near North 10th Street,6ABCreported.
The shooter fired eight bullets, which not only hit an unidentified 24-year-old man twice in the arm, but also entered a home with people inside — including four young children aged 6 months, 2 years, 4 years and 6 years old, NBC10 reported.
“We’re very lucky that of those 12 people inside the property, none of them were struck by gunfire,” Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said, according to NBC10.

Once the man was shot he reportedly ran three blocks to Einstein Hospital for treatment and is in stable condition.
The investigation and search for the gunman is ongoing.
