Phila. lawmaker targets bath salt drug

PENNSYLVANIA – What do the names “White Girl,” “Blizzard,” and “Hurricane Charlie” have in common?

They’re all names for a dangerous drug advertised in some stores as bath salts that is apparently spreading across the nation.

After an incident on Saturday in West Pittston, Pa., near Wilkes-Barre, where a couple allegedly nearly cut their 5-year-old daughter as they tried to stab “the 90 people living in the walls” during hallucinations, state Sen. Larry Farnese announced he would introduce a bill to ban substances used in the drug, which is sold at convenience stores, head shops and on the Web.
