Our favorite week of the year is back for its seventh go. BetweenMay 29 and June 8, bars all over the city are hosting informative, fun and just plain odd events. We rounded up the highlights of this seven-day celebration of suds.
Fried Chicken Run
Saturday, 3 p.m.–2 a.m.

Join the Fishtown Beer Runners on a 5-mile run, from Philadelphia Brewing Company to American Sardine Bar, where Scott Schroeder will be serving up his famous fried chicken.
Throwdown in Franklintown
June 1, 2–6 p.m.
Kite & Key

A friendly war between Yards Brewing and Kite & Key brings together staff and customers for some pretty outrageous contests. On the list this year are chariot races, tug o’ war and sumo wrestling.

June 2, 4:30–7 p.m.
Nodding Head Brewery
1516 Sansom St.
Founder and president of Delaware brewery Dogfish Head Sam Calagione will be sharing from his own collection. Older versions of Raison D’Extra, 120 Minute IPA, Immort Ale and Fort, as well as brews from Nodding Head, will be among the drinks served.
Dock Street & Dilewyns: Plan B Brew Day
June 3, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
Dock Street Brewery

Anne-Catherine Dilewyns, the 26-year-old head brewer at Brewery Dilewyns in Belgium, is throwing a party with Dock Street’s Justin Low. The pair created Philly Beer Week’s official collaboration brew, Philly Tripel Plan B.
Hips ‘n Hops Beer & Yoga
June 3, 6–9 p.m.

500 W. Germantown Pike, Plymouth Meeting
Yoga and beer mix just as well as you always suspected they would. Whole Foods partners with New Hampshire’s Smuttynose Brewery for an hour-long yoga class followed by a rooftop terrace tap takeover from Smuttynose.
Slider Showdown with Deschutes Brewery
June 4, 5:30–7:30 p.m.
Di Bruno Bros.

The guests are the judges at this culinary showdown. Oregon’s Deschutes Brewery is bringing Not the Stoic beer for its Philly debut while cooks at Di Bruno, celebrating its 75th anniversary, create their best sliders.
Brooklyn Ghost Bottle Night
June 6, 10 p.m.–2 a.m.

Brooklyn Brewery is bringing Ghost Bottles to haunt — and intoxicate — the good people of Philadelphia.
Kick the Keg Wing Fest

To close Philly Beer Week in the most appropriate way, the Hyatt Regency at Penn’s Landing is holding a kegger. Snack on buffalo wings and help polish off everything left in the tanks.
