PHOTOS: Philly Music Walk of Fame Evening Gala & Afternoon Induction Ceremony

On Wednesday night, the Philly Music Walk of Fame held their afternoon induction ceremony and evening gala for the Class of 2017. Honorees included: Jill Scott, Sister Sledge, Labelle (Patti LaBelle, Sarah Dash, Nona Hendryx), McFadden & Whitehead, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, The Soul Survivors, Chris Schwartz & Joe Nicolo (Ruffhouse Records) and 98.1 WOGL “Saturday Night Dance Party” host Bob Pantano.

In the afternoon, the induction ceremony was held at The Kimmel Center and attended by Class of 2017 members and/or reps, Senator Anthony Williams, Councilman Kenyatta Johnson and the School District of Philadelphia’s All City Show Band.

In the evening, the stars were aligned at The Fillmore for the gala. Attendees included CeCe Peniston , Schooly D, Melanie Fiona, Malina Moye,  Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff, Patty Jackson, “The Geator” Jerry Blavat,  Bilal and more.

“Celebrating this tremendous array of legendary talent during a gala event at the prestigious Fillmore reinforces our level of importance to the music and business communities of Philadelphia,” says PMA Board Chairman Alan Rubens in a press release. “This enables us to enhance our mission of honoring the past and helping to support the future of the vast musical talent that continues to come out of our city.”
