Playing the Field: Aaron Rodgers? Motown San Francisco?

Files this under weird football files.

According to Ronnie Lott, via TMZ, Aaron Rodgers made a bet with soul crooners Boyz II Men on last week’s Packers-49ers game and the quarterback has failed to make good on it. Rodgers was supposed to don an Alex Smith jersey since his Packers lost to Smith’s 49ers. Apparently, Rodgers is holding out. Lott says it’s far from over.

“I have a feeling it will bother him the next time he plays the Niners,” Lott said. “If they meet again this season, it will bother him.”

There are so many questions we want answered here. First, how does Rodgers know Boyz II Men? Does the Pro Bowl QB have a side gig as a jazz singer, like Ron Swanson? Or is he the secret fourth member of the group?

And why is Boyz II Men, the silky smooth voices behind “Motown Philly,” betting on San Francisco? We always assumed the Philly-based trio were Eagles fans, no?

We may never know the answers to these questions …, but maybe Charles Barkley knows.

Serena lands new racket (man)

A series of on-court victories for Serena Williams appears to have led to an off-court romance for the best female tennis player in the world.

Williams, who not too long ago swore off dating, has been spotted in public, holding hands and grab-assing, with her coach Patrick Mouratouglou. Makes sense since Serena has won the U.S. Open, Wimbledon and struck Olympic gold since Mouratouglou arrived on the scene.

We wish Serena and her new boo all the best, just please no one tell Common or Drake. Or maybe someone should, French Dry collab remix. Either way, Serena will survive …

Get your ‘Jerry Wipes’

The viral video of Jerry Jones having his eyeglasses cleaned by some poor lap dog has spawned its own brand. Turns out that lap dog was Jerry’s son-in-law, and he will now be selling a new eyeglass-cleaning cloths called “Jerry Wipes” on DallasCowboys.com.

“They can also be used for spontaneous shoe shining, if necessary,” his son-in-law told the Dallas Morning News.
