Pennsylvania State Police are looking for the suspects who stole 170 trout slated to be used in a Berks County fishing event for handicapped children.

Investigators said the fish were stolen Friday between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. from the Pike Township Sportsmen’s Association in Oley, Pa.

They were intended to be used for the “Berks Handicap Kids Trout Rodeo,” a fishing competition for children aged 5 to 14 that awards prizes to several boys and girls age groups for the heaviest trout haul.

The Sportsman Association scrambled to buy 200 more fish for the event just eight hours before it was scheduled to begin.

The Rodeo was held as planned on Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
