Police arrest suspect in Northeast tire slashing as more cars are vandalized

Police have arrested a man they say is responsible for at least some of the tire slashings in Northeast Philadelphia.

Quincy Kramer, 21, of the 3300 block of Englewood Street in Holmesburg, was taken into custody yesterday for allegedly puncturing nine tires Friday on the 3300 block of Cottman Avenue in Mayfair. Police released surveillance video of that incident on Saturday.

Kramer is charged with criminal mischief and possessing an instrument of crime.

Investigators are still trying to determine if Kramer had anything to do with nearly 70 other tires that were slashed in Mayfair and Oxford Circle since October.

More tires were reportedly damaged overnight on the 8000 block of Walker Street in Holmesburg. There is not yet word on whether Kramer was arrested before or after that incident took place.
