Police: Manhattan man arrested for two West Philly murders

Police on Monday charged 18-year-old Marco Joaquin, of Manhattan, N.Y., with the December murders of two West Philadelphia men.

Joaquin is accused of killing Dwayne Page, 29, and Anthony Fletcher, 33, onDec. 22during a triple shooting on the 4600 block of Chester Avenue.

Police responded to an apartment building around 10:30 p.m. about a report of a shooting.

They found Fletcher in the living room, unconscious and slumped up against the door.

He had been shot multiple times and died at the scene.

Investigators located Page in the kitchen of the residence.

He was shot in the chest and taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he died of his injuries less than 24 hours later.

A third victim with gunshot woulds to his face and chest was also hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

Joaquinwas arraigned early Tuesday morning.

He is charged with three counts each of conspiracy and robbery with the infliction of serious bodily injury; two counts each of murder and reckless endangerment; and one count each of burglary, aggravated assault, attempted murder, carrying unlicensed firearm and possession of an instrument of crime.

Joaquinis next due in court May 22 for a preliminary hearing.
