Police search for alleged Chinatown groper

Police are searching for a man who is groping women in Chinatown.

There have been two reported incidents, both of which occurred last Thursday. Police said the first was just before 5 p.m. on the 1000 block of Spring Street. After leaving the Chinatown Learning Center, the woman reported that an unknown male approached her from behind and grabbed her buttocks, then fled in an unknown direction.

The second incident happened about 90 minutes later, near 11th and Vine streets. The victim told police that the male walked by her, then turned and approached her from behind, grabbed her buttocks and fled in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s, about 5 foot 8 inches, thin build, medium complexion, clean shaven, wearing a dark blue short-sleeved shirt with white designs and black sweat pants. Authorities said the suspect appears to be homeless.
