Possible Jackson holdout lingers over Eagles camp

Most NFL players are excited to be back. Most players aren’t DeSean Jackson.

The Eagles receiver is entering the final year of a rookie deal that pays him about $560,000. Apparently, it’s unclear whether Jackson will show when training camp opens today at Lehigh University.

“Hopefully he’ll be here,” said quarterback Michael Vick, who spoke with Jackson Monday. “DeSean just has to think about it and has some decisions to make that only himself can make.”

On Monday, Jackson posted the following Twitter message, “Ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok!! FOOTBALL IS BAC LET’S GET IT!! YA HEARD MEEEEH!!”

Jackson referenced his own tweet yesterday, after ESPN’s Jim Rome displayed it on his TV show, posting “nice read” via Twitter.

Jackson’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, didn’t return calls yesterday. Another one of Rosenhaus’ clients, Terrell Owens, famously held out in 2005.

“Just being realistic about the situation, it’s all in what DeSean wants,” Vick said. metro/mg
