Rash of weekend violence kills six

Five men and a woman were killed in four separate incidents over the weekend.

A man was shot and killed in North Philadelphia this morning. Police
responded to the 3500 block of Kensington Avenue shortly after 6:05
a.m.to find a man, 25, shot twice in each leg He was rushed to Temple
University Hospital, where he died shortly before 7:10 a.m.

Three were killed in two separate double shootings early Saturday morning. Robert Alvin 39, and Michael Butler, 46, were shot multiple times at 17th Street and Susquehanna Avenue in North Philadelphia shortly after 12:15 a.m. They died on the scene.

Two men were shot in a car at Christopher Columbus Boulevard and Christian Street in South Philadelphia shortly before 4 a.m., reportedly after leaving a nearby club. Adolf Bradford, 25, of Edgewater Park, New Jersey died at 4:05 a.m., while the second victim, a John Doe in his 20s, is in stable condition at Jefferson University Hospital.

Two died in an apparent murder-suicide Saturday night in the Lawncrest section of Northeast Philadelphia. A man, 31, allegedly shot a woman, 28, in the upper torso inside the baseball field of the Lawncrest Recreation Center at 5921 Rising Sun Avenue at about 6:45 p.m., then shot himself once in the head through the chin. Police said the weapon was recovered at the scene.

No arrests have yet been made in any of the incidents.
