Curious about the Philadelphia Fringe Festival but on the fence about going? Then you should check out the first ever Fringe-For-All event which takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 13 in South Street Headhouse District from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This free event will preview a number of dance, music, comedy and even magic shows that are apart of the 2017 Philadelphia Fringe Festival lineup. There will even be light food and beverages available from popular Irish pub Bridget Foy’s.
“FringeArts is a natural fit for South Street. The creativity and energy of the festival match well with South Street’s history as a diverse cultural center,” says South Street Headhouse District Executive Director Mike Harris. “We actively pursued the opportunity to host FringeArts performances at our venues and we are thrilled to be a part of this signature Philadelphia institution with our new Fringe-For-All preview.”
Performance previews at Fringe-For-All include Bertolt Brecht’s “The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui” performed at The Shambles (104 Lombard St.); “Gli$ter” performed at Tattooed Mom (530 South St.) & The Tusk (430 South St.); Liberty City Radio Theatre will take over Headhouse Cafe (122-124 Lombard St.); “Monarch” will hold court at Fleisher Art Center (719 Catharine St.); the Waitstaff & Mean Wendy Band will rock it out at L’ Etage (624 S. 6th St.) and the Svaha Theatre Collective will perform al fresco at Bainbridge Green (300-400 Bainbridge St.).
