Reid sitting starters rest of the way

The Eagles’ starters “most likely” played their final preseason game last Friday night in Kansas City.

Andy Reid said yesterday that he’ll go with the twos and threes Thursday against the Jets. The coach is satisfied with the way new starting quarterback Kevin Kolb has played.

“I know everybody’s making a stink about not punching it in the end zone,” Reid said.

“He had one called back and that type of thing; I don’t want to make an excuse here for him, but I don’t have a concern with him punching it in the end zone.”

Center Jamaal Jackson (ACL) took snaps with the first-team offense at yesterday’s practice. Reid said there’s still a chance he could play in the season opener on Sept. 12.

“He said he feels well and the doctors have given him the clear,” Reid said.
