Report: Bradley, Mikell given walking papers

What happened to the flurry of activity set to hit the NFL like a typhoon?

While most teams went about scouring for rookies and re-signing their own free agents, the Eagles were relatively quiet.

Kevin Kolb is still an Eagle (although sources have said a deal to Arizona is still in the works). Ray Edwards is still a Viking (although veteran free agents can’t sign until Friday). And DeSean Jackson and Michael Vick still don’t have new deals.

The biggest news came from a Philadelphia Inquirer report, which said the Eagles will not pursue Stewart Bradley, Quintin Mikell, Sav Rocca and Jerome Harrison. If true — the Eagles weren’t available for comment — it’s not a total shock.

Mikell seemed to know his time was up, following a tearful exit interview after last season. But the team was expected to negotiate with Bradley. With Bradley gone, the Eagles will have to look to free agency for a starting middle linebacker or hand the job over to Jamar Chaney.
