Rene Kobeitri’s birthday celebration was a record-breaking experience.

The owner of Rim Cafe in South Philly invited local chefs to participate in creating a record-breaking cheesesteak—510 feet long—that spanned three city blocks. The tasty spectacle embraced international flavors thanks to Philly chefs who each made sections to represent specific countries. For example, Chef Christina Martinez of South Philly Barbacoa created a Mexican cheesesteak; Chef Mike McKinley of Yakitori Boy created a Japanese cheesesteak; and Chef Dian Widjojo, owner of Hardena Restaurant created an Indonesian cheesesteak, to name a few.

Philadelphians joined in the celebration, tasting pieces of the colossal cheesesteak while dancing in the street.

It doesn’t get more Philly than that.
