Rocky start for Doc in Colorado

After 13 seasons, Roy Halladay finally made his major-league debut in his hometown. He’s still looking for his first win there.

Halladay, who grew up in Denver, took a 3-1 lead into the seventh but only earned a no-decision after Brad Hawpe tripled to tie it and eventually send it to extra innings. The Phillies lost 4-3 in the 10th inning.

“He was having trouble gripping the ball,” Phils skipper Charlie Manuel said. “The ball was taking off on him. He was battling, but it was cold.”

Halladay (6-1, 1.59 ERA) surrendered three runs — two earned — on 10 hits in 61/3 innings. Phils reliever Chad Durbin gave up a lead-off homer to Miguel Olivo in the 10th.
