PHS Pop-Up Garden on South Street

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society recently announced the return of their pop-up libation garden on South Street, which officially opened April 1. The space offers visitors a safe and relaxing garden space, designed to incorporate colorful and architectural foliage with a peaceful atmosphere located in an urban setting, with food and drink being provided by some Philly favorites such as Cantina Los Caballitos and Khyber Pass Pub.

Highlighted menu items span from a garden burger, plenty of vegan options, and new offerings such as their Mexican shrimp cocktail, a lemony artichoke and herb hummus, and the Nashville hot chicken wrap alongside of kid-friendly options like chicken fingers, burgers, and fries. In May, seasonal drink options will also begin to spring up celebrating Cinco De Mayo, and food items ranging from seafood specials to BBQ. On the spirited side of the menu, those who head to South Street can sip on the frozen mojito with Faber rum, mint simple syrup, lime juice, butterfly pea powder and mint sprig and new additions like the Frozen Gritty Marg, made with Lundazi silver tequila, Tang, lime slice and a black salt rim and the Old Fashioned with Larceny whiskey, sugar, lilac bitters, and an orange twist.

For beer lovers, the Pop Up Gardens will feature 16 options with a variety of IPAs, ciders, wheat beers and sour beers, with craft beer selections including the Half Acre Daisy Cutter Pale Ale, Cigar City Jai Alai IPA, and Log Yard Blueberry Shandy.

Lil Pop Shop and Weckerly’s Partnership

This weekend marks one extra sweet occasion: On Friday, April 16, a new partnership between Lil Pop Shop and Weckerly’s Ice Cream will kick off and everyone is invited out to indulge in the two hotspots latest creations. Philadelphians will now be able to enjoy a variety of scoops and other ice cream treats from Weckerly’s at Lil Pop Shop’s original space in West Philadelphia (265 S. 44th St.), and while over in Fishtown, Weckerly’s flagship shop (9 W. Girard Ave.) will offer a selection of Lil Pop Shop’s small-batch fruit and cream based-pops as well.

The two dessert destinations have also collaborated on a new treat that will debut this Friday. Lil Pop Shop’s and Weckerly’s Popalong Bar is made with a vanilla ice cream popsicle bar dipped in a mix of dark chocolate and crispy rice. This new creation will be available all weekend long at both locations.
