Sesame Street holding open call auditions in Philadelphia

The producer of Sesame Street Live! is holding open call auditions in Philadelphia Wednesday for paid singers and dancers to be on the stage show’s national tour.

The auditions will be held March 16 at the Liacouras Center, 1776 N. Broad Street, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Vee Corporation is looking for “versatile” jazz and musical theater dancers between 4-feet-11 and 6-foot-one inch to inhabit full-body costume characters for the 10-month tour.

They are also seeking female live mic performers between 5-feet-2 and 5-feet-7 inches who can dance, sing and act. That role requires the completion of a dance combination, two prepared 16-bar vocal selections and an “upbeat” one-minute monologue.

The dance combination, mandatory for all hopefuls, will be taught at 2 p.m. Performers must be 18 or older and the positions are non-union.
