Silverliners pushed back

Another hitch in the construction of SEPTA’s new Silverliner train cars has pushed back the arrival of the next three cars by three or four weeks, a spokeswoman told the Inquirer this weekend.

Three cars were supposed to be delivered Friday, but will require additional time, she said. A message left yesterday afternoon was not immediately returned.

Another group of the South Korea-built train cars also expected before the end of the year may be delayed too, the report said. In all, 120 new Silverliners will eventually replace 40-year-old versions.
