It’s a sad fact for Sixers fans, but the lowly team is almost worth watching again.
Not because they are playing good basketball, but because the team is history in the making.
Facing Western Conference foes the Spurs in San Antonio Monday night at 8:30 p.m., the 76ers are just two losses away from tying the all-time record for consecutive defeats.
They have 24 setbacks in a row, and if they couldn’t take care of business against the Magic or Bucks, it would be surprising to see them prevail against the Southwest leading Spurs.
“There’s a win in this group,” coach Brett Brown, formerly a Spurs assistant, told reporters. “We will continue to fight and continue to stay together. I’m just thrilled, I’m proud of their ability, their character, to stay together in what’s clearly difficult times.”
