Police have charged a man with involuntary manslaughter and drunk driving for allegedly slamming his car into a woman sitting in a parked vehicle. The woman later died of her injuries.

Anthony Russino, 59, was allegedly driving north on South 13th and Moore streets around 3 p.m. on Saturday when he struck three parked cars, police said.

Inside one of those vehicles was Caroline Morgan, 56.

Russino got out of his car, a silver 2014 Honda Accord, and tried to take the license plate off the vehicle before running away, according to the police report.

Witnesses said Morgan, 56, fell over into the passenger seat of her car, a Silver Fiat, after it was struck. Bystanders who approached the crash scene did not see Morgan inside her car until 10 minutes after the crash, when they called 911, authorities said.

She was taken to Jefferson University Hospital, where she died a short time later.

The other parked vehicles damaged in the crash were unoccupied.

Russino was arrested at his home on the 2600 block of South Jessup Street later that evening.
