Spruce Street Harbor Park was slated to close for the summer after this weekend but officials announced due to popular demand, the park will stay open for another month — until Sept. 28.

You’ll be able to enjoy food on the floating barge, fountains, a boardwalk, an urban beach, life-sized chess and more for a few more weeks.

“We thought the park would be popular, but [we] had no idea just how popular it would be,” said Thomas Corcoran, president of the Delaware River Waterfront Corp.

The DRWC had received a grant from ArtPlace America to make the park possible.

In the winter, that area along the river is home to the Blue Cross RiverRink and Waterfront Winterfest.
