Stacey Smalls: Tacony woman allegedly killed twin toddlers, drugged daughter (UPDATED)

A Tacony woman has allegedly confessed to killing her one-year-old twins and trying to poison her daughter before slitting her wrists, according to reports.

Stacey Smalls, 41, of the 6300 block of Ditman Street, is expected to be charged with murder after her husband Ronald Smalls came home and discovered the heart-wrenching scene Thursday shortly after 4 p.m. The twins, Adam and Eve Smalls, were pronounced dead at the scene. A 4-year-old girl was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and is listed in stable condition.

Police said the twins appear to have been suffocated and that Stacey Smalls also gave pills or some type of narcotic to her daughter, 4. Smalls then allegedly slit her wrists in an attempted suicide. She is hospitalized in stable condition and could be released to police custody.

Police have not released a motive at this time, but sources say it appears the marriage had been in trouble for some time over a possible affair.

On Stacey Small’s Facebook page, she changed her profile picture May 19 to an image of a car that she downloaded from the internet. Words sprayed across the side of the car read: ‘Hope she was worth it.’ When one friend asked about the image, Stacey replied ‘I liked her style. Friend Ronald Smalls and check out what I wrote on his page.’

Also on her Facebook page, she had recently changed her relationship status from married to divorced. One of the links on the page says “I love being a mom.”

Smalls was a nurse at River’s Edge Nursing Home on State Road, while Ronald Smalls worked as a corrections officer, according to 6ABC. Neighbors and co-workers were shocked by the news.

“She said, ‘Hey, it’s a good day.’ That’s all,” co-worker Tina Brown told 6ABC, about her encounter with Stacey Smalls at work Thursday morning. “She said, ‘Hi Tina, have a good day at work’ and she left. She didn’t seem stressed out or anything like that.”
