SugarHouse employees get bonus, Mega Millions ticket

SugarHouse Casino employees were the recipients of some good fortune Friday as they received a $200 bonus check and a ticket for tonight’s Mega Millions drawing, the company said.

The surprise gifts were given to the casino’s roughly 1,000 employees in recognition of the casino being recognized a top employer. SugarHouse was named one of the “2012 Top Workplaces” in the annual contest by the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News.

Last year, SugarHouse employees also voted the Delaware Avenue casino one of the city’s “Best Places to Work” in the Philadelphia Business Journal rankings.

“We’re demonstrating our appreciation to the team that’s made SugarHouse the premier gaming and entertainment destination in Philadelphia,” said Wendy Hamilton, general manager of SugarHouse Casino. “They surprise and delight our guests every day; so today, we wanted to surprise and delight them.”

The Mega Millions jackpot is up to a record $640 million. The previous record was $390 million in 2007.
