Get ready for the trite and very much cliche “snowballs at Santa” jokes.

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie wants to bring the Super Bowl to Philadelphia, reports Philly.com.

Speaking at the annual NFL owners meeting in Arizona on Monday, Lurie said he’s intrigued by the idea of bringing America’s biggest sporting eventto the City of Brotherly Love. The Eagles’ longtime owner is anxious to see if the game goes over well in North Jersey’s MetLife Stadium next February, when the Super Bowl will be played in a cold-weather environment for the first time in decades.

Lurie indicated he would have “no fear of it snowing” during a Philly Super Bowl, pointing out that growing up in Boston, some of his top Patriots memories were from games played in “very difficult and wonderful conditions.”

Let’s just hope national media types can resist the urge to put “snowballs” and “Santa” into the same sentence over and over and over again if it does happen.
