Super Chicken Grocery: West Oak Lane store owner shot during attempted robbery

A West Oak Lane store owner is in extremely critical condition after being shot during an attempted robbery last night.

The man, 38, was working at the counter of Super Chicken Grocery on the 6900 block of Rodney Street shortly before 7:30 p.m. when a man wearing a black ski mask tried to take money from behind the register, police said. A struggle ensued and the victim was shot in the chest and arm.

He was rushed to Einstein Medical Center, where he underwent emergency surgery last night and remains in extremely critical condition.

Police are looking for a black man wearing a black mask, black jacket, dark jeans and black sneakers with white soles.
