A suspect is in custody after allegedly shooting another man and stabbing a woman during a violent outburst in Mount Ephraim, Camden County, early Tuesday.

The shooting happened about 2:30 a.m. A 36-year-old man was shot in his face and arm along the 300 block of Liberty Avenue, 6ABC Action News reports. He was listed in critical condition.

While investigating the shooting, police were alerted to a stabbing victim who had fled the Liberty Avenue crime scene to a home on Lincoln Avenue. The woman, in her 30s, had been stabbed multiple times. She and the shooting victim were rushed to Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

The suspect holed himself up in a home on the 300 block of Liberty Avenue, setting up a standoff that brought a SWAT response. The suspect was detained before 6:30 a.m., according to the report.
