No matter what the temperature, ice will be in abundance at beautiful Laurel Hill Gardens in Chestnut Hill Saturday for Valentine’s on Ice. Sculptors from Ice Sculpture Philly will be on hand to perform “live ice-carving spectacles,” and kids can meet and greet with Queen Elsa from “Frozen.” Hot chocolate and steamy s’mores will be served, keeping all the little tummies warm.

Meet the pair of DEA agents who took down Mexican drug cartel leader Pablo Escobar and inspired the hit Netflix series “Narcos.” At this event, Javier Pena and Steve Murphy discuss how they played a role in catching the man who at one time supplied 80 percent of the cocaine coming into the U.S., and share anecdotes about their input into the Netflix series. A Q&A session with the audience follows.

Thought-provoking Brooklyn hip-hop artist Talib Kweli comes to Philadelphia on his Seven tour — the last stop before he finishes up in New York City on Feb. 10. True to his nature of providing a platform to artists on the rise, this show features special guest rapper K’Valentine, whose debut album, “Here for a Reason,” is due out this March.

Philly’s 14-year-old new wave dance party moves to a new location: Club Mousai, the sleek dance space located inside CiBo Ristorante Italiano. WXPN DJ Robert Drake spins a setlist inspired by the Eurythmics, with gems from Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart pumping till 2 a.m. Show up an hour before the party, at 10 p.m., for drink specials and raffle prizes.

One of Rossini’s most lyrical operas comes to the Academy of Music with superstar mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe taking on the title role. In this adaptation, Blythe portrays exiled WWI soldier Tancredi, who returns home to defend his lover, Amenaide, who has been wrongly convicted of treason and sentenced to death. Heroic and heart-melting acts of chivalry ensue.

Modern dance troupe BalletX’s Winter Series features a trio of fresh and innovative new works. “The Letter” by renowned Norwegian choreographer Jo Stromgren takes inspiration from American folk music; former company dancer R. Colby Damon returns to debut his dance-meets-science mashup, “On the Mysterious Properties of Light”; and co-founder Matthew Neenan presents the East Coast premiere of, “Credo.” The latter garnered all kinds of praise from The New York Times when it showed at the 2016 Vail International Dance Festival.

Barrymore winner Dan Hodge directs Curio Theatre Company’s adaptation of Samuel Beckett’s absurdist classic “Waiting for Godot,” playing Thursday through Saturday nights at 8 p.m. through March 4. Real-life best buds Brian McCann and Paul Kuhn play Vladimir and Estragon, two friends who encounter a series of passers-by as they patiently await the arrival of the elusive Godot.
