Right now, the establishment has an all-new fall menu with both cocktails and dishes to tickle any foodies fancy. Whiskey lovers will also feel right at home. The Twisted Tail offers an extensive and impressive variety of over 120 different kinds. They also have whiskey tastings, local beer tastings, and cocktail classes. You can sample all of them as a member of their Bourbon Club and receive exclusive discounts as well.
Typically you can enjoy the food and spirits along with live entertainment including blues music in their Juke Joint. Patrons also used to feel right at home in their lounge and club room area. All of the elements from the menu to the bar have made The Twisted Tail under a must-try spot in Philly, and that hasn’t stopped just because of COVID.
On top of the new dinner offerings, which includes dishes ranging from spicy salmon tartare, BBQ smoked ribs, grilled octopus, ricotta gnocchi, a Berkshire pork chop, fried chicken, crawfish mac & cheese, butterscotch budino and more, the Old City hotspot also has a whole new layout of sidewalk seating to help customers and staff stay healthy while eating out. However, aside from dinner, The Twisted Tail offers lunch, brunch, late-night, kid and other specialty menus as well as a family-style whole roasted pig with succulent sides. Speaking of that specialty, the whiskey joint also has been offering specialty services and packages on top of their regular meal offerings.
The Twisted Tail owner and expert mixologist, George Reilly will be able to come to your home and host you and your group of invitees through a virtual cocktail class which includes premium spirits and all ingredients, two hours of cocktail and instruction, plus set up and travel time. The price comes out to be $600 for a group of up to 12 people.
The popular eatery, bar and live music venue is not stopping there; Philadelphians can also purchase an event package that includes a family-style feast, served tableside. According to a release, a whole roasted suckling pig will be deboned, stuffed, roasted, carved tableside by the chef, and presented with five sides, including a seasonal salad, bbq baked beans, Mac ’n’ cheese, cornbread and a seasonal vegetable. The Pig Roast banquet is for groups of 10-12 (starting at $55 per person) and includes the whole roasted suckling pig, family-style sides, beignets and a private carving chef. Those looking to make the even a bit more spirited as well can also purchase alcohol add-ons as well for an additional price. On top of the two specific event offerings, The Twisted Tail is also open to hosting intimate and socially-distanced weddings and celebrations inside the venue or outside in their garden.
But we all know the happiest of hours are happy hours, and at The Twisted Tail they have social hour. According to a release, during the restaurant’s social hour, guests are invited to indulge in select $4, $5, $6 munchies including Smoked Bacon and Corn Fritters, Heirloom Tomato Bruschetta, and Truffle Mushroom Rice Balls and cheers to the end of the workday with half priced select draft beers and $4 house wines. The Twisted Tail also offers daily rotating happy hour duos including a dish and cocktail for $16.
