We’re into the dog days of summer and the weather is hotter than ever, especially when you live in a big city like Philadelphia. While a weekend escape to the shore is a great idea, it’s not always doable. That’s where staycations come in. Stay at one of these Philadelphia hotels for a night or two and get access to their gorgeous pools for a day of swimming and relaxation — no road trip required.

Sonesta Philadelphia
1800 Market Street

Want to go swimming in the sunshine? Sonesta near Rittenhouse Square has an outdoor pool on the eighth floor that’s open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, that even includes a view of the city skyline. Seating is cabana-style for an extra fancy feel.

The Windsor Suites Philadelphia
1700 Benjamin Franklin Parkway

Another great outdoor pool option is The Windsor Suites near the Art Museum. Their rooftop pool is located on the 24th floor and offers stunning city views. It’s open seasonally from 9 a.m. to dusk.

The Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District
400 Arch St.

Seeing the sights in Old City? Make a reservation at The Wyndham so you can make use of their beautiful rooftop pool. While it only reaches depths of five feet, it’s enough to keep you cool in the summertime heat. What’s more, the views of the city are spectacular. Take advantage of this amenity from Memorial Day through Labor Day daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Sheraton Society Hill
1 Dock St.

While this pool is on the top floor of the Sheraton in Society Hill, it’s open all year round because it’s enclosed in a glass atrium. How cool is that? Even in the winter months, you can get your swim on.

Sheraton University City
3549 Chestnut St.

Perhaps you’d rather stay a little more uptown for the weekend or maybe you’re visiting your kids in college. The Sheraton University also has a rooftop pool if you’re in the mood to go swimming. Open seasonally depending on weather, you can take a dip from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. while taking in a partial view of the Philly skyline.
