Thief steals cash from Pa. SPCA

FELTONVILLE – Police are looking for the man who robbed the Pennsylvania SPCA at knifepoint by pretending to turn in an injured animal.

Authorities said the suspect, described as a black man in his 20s, entered the agency’s office on East Erie Avenue near B Street around 4 a.m. claiming he wanted to turn in a dog, which was actually a pile of blankets. The suspect then allegedly pulled a knife and demanded money, running off with a floor safe that contained roughly $1,700, and a red SPCA truck.
