Tickets now on sale for Philly Beer Week

Philly Beer Week’s Opening Tap on May 30 has moved to a new location this year, and tickets are now on sale. Opening Tap will be at the 23rd Street Armory (22 S. 23rd St.), with Mayor Nutter on hand for the annual “first tap.” The organizers expect 1,300 beer lovers to show up, ready to sample selections from more than 30 craft breweries. The evening is a fundraiser for Philly Beer Week.

Other highlights of the 10-day citywide celebration of all things beer include:

June 1: The fifth annual Throwdown in Franklintown at Kite & Key(1836 Callowhill St.).

June 2: Beerlesque: Tastings and Tassels, at Boot & Saddle (1131 S. Broad St.) withOregon brewery Deschutes and performers from the Peekabo Revue.

June 3: The Dunk Tank at London Grill (2301 Fairmount Ave.), with proceeds benefiting PAWS.

June 5: Home Sweet Homebrew and Monk’s Cafe team up for Hops @ Greensgrow, a beer workshop at Greensgrow Farms.

June 7: The third annual Fishtown FestivALE, an outdoor street festival.
