Todd Herremans, Jason Kelce, others look strong

It would have been the perfect time for Andy Reid to say “I told you so,” about his shuffled offensive line.

Of course, he didn’t do that. Reid admitted his line had a few miscommunications early, but seemed pleased overall.

“We were just off by a hair, just sheer inch plays,” Reid said. “We have to be just a little step quicker and we will be OK.”

The team’s biggest question mark entering the season fought off the crowd noise and looked strong — especially at right tackle, where Todd Herremans dominated Chris Long.

Reid seemed pleased with the play of rookie center Jason Kelce.

“I have to go back and look at the tape, but I felt like he handled all the calls pretty well,” Reid said.

The offensive line gave up three sacks, but also allowed two players — Mike Vick (100), LeSean McCoy (122) — to rush for 100 yards. The last time two Eagles ran for 100 yards was Oct. 28, 2002.

“I think we surprised some people,” Herremans said. “We were obviously questioned going into the game, hopefully we answered some of those questions.”

They certainly passed the test among teammates.

“They did a good job, man,” McCoy said. “They took a lot of hard shots from the media, but them guys stepped in and played well.”
