Two Philly cops hurt in early morning crash

Two Philadelphia police officers were hurt in an early morning crash in Southwest Philadelphia.

The officers, both from the12thDistrictwere riding in an SUV that hit two trees near Bartram and Essingtonavenues at approximately 2 a.m. Tuesday. It appears that no other cars were involved.

The driver, male officer was taken to Presbyterian Hospital for neck and back pain. A female cop who was a passenger in the cruiserwas taken for surgery atHahnemann University Hospital for a broken leg.
