Two sexual assaults reported at Temple

Police are investigating two separate alleged sexual assaults on Temple University’s campus, both reported within the last two weeks.

The most recent assault reportedly happened in a Temple residence hall on the 1300 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue early Saturday morning.

The 18-year-old female victim, a freshman, knew her two attackers as dorm mates and fellow students, according to police. Police have confirmed they questioned all parties involved late Saturday and have been working with Temple University to continue the investigation.

The earlier assault allegedly happened on Nov. 11 and was reported to Temple University security on Nov. 18. That attack reportedly happened at off-campus housing located on the 1500 block of West Norris Street.

The victim was identified as a 21-year-old Temple University student who also knew her attacker.

The victim was reportedly hesitant to proceed and did not want police notified. Police received a report of the incident early yesterday morning. As of yesterday afternoon, the police had not been able to make contact with the victim to confirm specific details of the attack.

Alcohol was involved in both incidents, though police believe the involvement to be inconsequential. No one has been charged in either of the incidents and both investigations are still on going.
