Update: Police release details on woman’s skeleton found in state park

Investigators are trying to figure out how a human skeleton recently wound up in a state park just outside Philadelphia.

The skeleton was found on New Year’s Day around 1 p.m. by a hiker who went slighty off a main trail intoa wooded area of Ridley Creek State Park in Delaware County, state police said.

Police troopers from the barracks in Media, Pa. confirmed thatthe remains are believed to be those of a female.

The identity of the skeleton, and the cause of death, were being sought by investigators.

On Monday morning, the Pennsylvania State Police released additional details about the physical characteristics of the body based on an investigation by the Delaware County Medical Examiner’s Office.

According to police, the remains are of a white female in her late teens to late 20s, roughly 63 inches tall with a slender build. The female had prominent teeth and jaw, either light brown or blonde hair, and wore a size nine shoe, state police said.
