Forget shopping for heart-shaped boxes of chocolate and red roses. If you’re a singleton this Valentine’s Day, it’s time to go “man shopping” — at least according 95.7 Ben FM. The radio station teamed up with UpcomingEvents.com and Singlesevents.com for the 10th annual Mile of Meet, at Manayunk Brewing Company on V Day from 6 to 10:30 p.m.
Here’s how it works: Guys, age 25-55, register in advance, show up on Feb. 14, and line up on Main Street holding a number. The ladies will walk along the line of eligible bachelors (at least, we hope they’re eligible and bachelors), scope out the goods and write down the numbers of their favorites. Then everyone heads inside for mingling and ice breakers and — who knows? — possibly the start of a beautiful friendship.
Ben FM’s Marilyn Russell will play host for the evening, with help from Craig Robinson from “The Bachelorette,” Maria Papadakis of Comcast Sportsnet and Philly.com, and “The Voice”‘s Matthew Schuler.
