VIDEO: Two men tie up St. Joe’s student in kidnapping attempt

New surveillance footage shows a terrifying kidnapping attempt against a St. Joseph’s University student in West Philadelphia.

The footage, released by the Philadelphia Police Department, shows two suspects’ calculated break-in, trying windows and doors around the house on the 5600 block of Woodbine Avenue. The suspects entered the house and woke a female resident asleep in her basement bedroom.

Theytied her wrists with zip ties and duct-taped her mouth. They then stole her purse, car keys, iPhone and iPad, according to police. They ordered the woman to the back of the house and planned to shove her into the trunk of her car, but she fled to safety.The suspects then fled in her 2006 Hyundai Sonata.

One suspect is about 5-foot-7 and 140 pounds, who at the time was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black mask and latex gloves. He was armed with handgun and a hunting knife. His accomplice is about 5 feet, 8 inches and of average build, wearing dark clothing and latex gloves at the time.
