If the season started today (and thank God it doesn’t), the Eagles starting 11 on both sides of the ball would have some pretty glaring holes. Rather than breaking down the positions of need one by one, here’s a look at where the depth chart stands, at this moment, right now.

With Todd Herremans, Trent Cole, Cary Williams and others cut, no contract (yet) for Jeremy Maclin or Brandon Graham, and Tuesday’s blockbuster trade of LeSean McCoy, this is what we are left with.

Notice a few particular weak spots in the defensive backfield, outside linebacker and wide receiver. The Birds also need an offensive lineman to replace Herremans, a running back to replace McCoy, and a d-lineman to replace Cole. Boy, that’s a lot isn’t it?

Lets hope the holes get filled — and soon.
